thank you for putting together this wonderful design exercise series -
I chose to pursue form studies based on traditional folding mechanisms rather than exploring new ones.
I focused primarily on exploring new forms (seating/back planes) in folding chairs.

'UR' folding chair, it can be folded like an antique roller blind
some spanish words like 'machihembrado' explain the mecanism of my chair, but as far as I know
there is no translation into english.
I'll try to explain it with a wrist watch, if you pay attention to the methalic strapand how it folds...

'6-12-3 inverse' it is made in cardboard of 3 sheets, you can arm and disarm this chair folding the sections.
it becomes a totally plane sheet that you can hang on the wall. colors of sections are for ornamental purposes.

'anarchy' the unfolding chair -
(flip the chair upside-down and it looks like the anarchy symbol. a lot of punks hang out at my coffee shop,
and so I give them credit for the name). I didn't want to have an absolutely symmetrical chair, so the legs are
shaped differently. I am attracted to the idea that we can find the materials to create our chairs close to home.
if the materials are recycled from something else-even better!
I don't think that I have designed this chair -- it is so simple that a bunch must have existed already !
I am thrilled that I was able to go in different directions with this very enjoyable and informative course.
