a palette of muted tones; black, white and grey is carried throughout the house promoting tonal variation and spatial depth to an otherwise compact site. architecture architecture plays with different shades to establish a subtle field of spaces. this is demonstrated in the living areas, where space and light are abundant, thus the material palette is darker in order to create spaces of comfortable repose. here, sensitive application of acoustic treatment reinforces these qualities.

in the circulation areas where the space is more narrow, the material palette lightens and height is maximized with the integration of metal sheet for reflection and skylights. a central courtyard sits at the heart of the dwelling where the living area seamlessly flows onto. the high-ceilinged corridors pinwheel out from this space and establishes a light-filled core highlight the area where most of the daily activity occurs. the material expression is continued upstairs, while dramatic skylights and generous windows invites an abundance of natural light.
