austrian firm atelier thomas pucher was announced as the winner in the international competition held for the extension and renovation of the main library at the university of graz. located in the heart of campus, the selected design includes the construction of a 430 seat auditorium, as well as 650 new reading and working spaces, study and examination rooms, administrative offices, and university storage. atelier thomas pucher’s work brings the library into the 21st century, and is to be implemented in independent sections that form a cohesive ensemble of various structures, functions, spaces, and architectural styles.
