home to the NBA brooklyn nets and soon the NHL new york islanders, barclays center anchors the mixed-use atlantic yards development and has established brooklyn as a major destination for top-tier sports and entertainment. AECOM served as sports architect and architect of record (ellerbe becket architects and engineers, p.c.) working with forest city ratner companies, the nets, hunt construction and SHoP architects. barclays center offers 18,200 seats for basketball and up to 19,000 seats for concerts. it also offers 100 luxury suites, four bars/lounges, three clubs, and the 40/40 club & restaurant by american express. one of the nation’s only true urban venues with no dedicated parking, barclays center can be reached via 11 subway lines, the long island rail road, and 11 bus lines.
