hugo mompó realizes bullit cyclery shop in valencia, spain

spanish architect hugo mompó has completed the latest shop for bike distributor bullit cyclery in valencia, spain. the team began working in a large and dark unit with low-ceilings and entirely partitioned by walls. hence, the situation needed to be overturned to create a wider and lighter space. thereby the false ceiling and interior walls are demolished and the rear patio is completely opened up, leaving the shop clear and full of light. the final design offers a cozy character  with a living-room to sit and talk, a kitchen to work and an airy patio.

very little work has been carried out by hugo mompó and his team. the elements that separate visitors from the outside is created by using galvanised steel trims, the remains of wooden floor slats of a single length are used as a hanging system, and simple furniture made of the same material are built for the reception desk and workbenches. walls are painted white and the ceiling is earth-coloured, mirroring colour of the pavement used in the entrance and the patio areas. finally a fence, made of a steel structure, delineate the boundary with the street — leaving free access when it is folded.
