renowned japanese architect kengo kuma has revealed designs for an office building to be built near the historic ski resort of chamonix. the scheme, which is currently ongoing, will provide blue ice, a manufacturer of mountaineering equipment, with a new headquarters set amid the undulating landscape. the timber structure features an angled roof canopy capable of shedding the significant amount of snow that falls in the region. the insulated building is embedded within the landscape with an external terrace positioned at the rear of the design.
