the up-and-coming neighborhood of sai ying pun by the western side of central hong kong is a natural extension of lower hollywood road and sheung wan
district whose trendy clubs, restaurants and galleries have been filling most of the spaces once occupied by local businesses. at the ground floor of the island
crest luxurious residential complex on second street, ‘la viola bar & grill’ by hong kong-based arboit architecture and design overlooks a well established
small square whose space is highly characterized by green features, light brown limestone paving and wooden benches.

a glass facade surfaces through two sets of french windows as the 120 sqm floor plan unfolds along the 17 meters long exterior surface. as wine enthusiasts
stand between both sides of the long italian marble high tables, the illuminated internal spaces provide theatrical lighting effect for a relaxing setting.
the italian restaurant incorporates ‘fusion’ elements into the cuisine; food is served in a very sleek and modern presentation. as a result, the décor is influenced
by the interiors of a 16th century high-ceiling venetian palazzo, applied as wallpaper throughout the space.
