‘lidköping police building’, is a proposal for a headquarters and public parking facility in lidköping, sweden by copenhagen-based practice LETH & GORI. the structure is placed above an open square on the border of the historical urban plan which dates from 1672, marking and emphasizing the main entry point to the historic city. the police building rests upon four existing small-scale buildings which are programmed with communal functions and the spaces surrounding them become a series of woven public spaces.

LETH & GORI: lidköping police building approach to the site

configured around large perforations, the center of the site becomes open towards the sky, welcoming residents to congregate and pass through the area. the intention is to transform the idea of traditionally closed facilities of authority and celebrate the local community and lively city.
