MAD architects has announced the winning entrants of this year’s MAD travel fellowship. during the past seven years, the program has sponsored a total of 35 students, allowing them experience architectural expeditions to africa, asia, europe, and north america. the travel fellowship is available to current undergraduate or graduate architecture student students worldwide. the applications were directly judged by ma yansong, who initiated the MAD travel fellowship in 2009.

this year, for the first time, the program will sponsor five global students to visit china, as well as five chinese architecture students who will be eligible for worldwide travel. ‘MAD believes it is only through travel — the visceral experience of interacting with, and being influenced by, different spaces — that one can begin to understand ideas of context and gain a deeper insight into architecture’, says the firm. see work by each of the 10 winning students below, and find more information here.
