mimicking a sheet of folded paper, the new boos boo beach club is a light wooden structure directly influenced by the art of origami. located in luxembourg, the zig-zagged form answers to the program requirements of the addition of a refurbished kitchen, eating area, smoking area and a 200 sqm open space for a dancefloor around a bar area.

the aim of metaform architects‘ design was to retain the ‘beach club’ character of the place and this was achieved through the material palette. charred wood, polished concrete flooring, raw steel, a decked terrace and white sand make up the lightweight structure. the idea was to harmoniously integrate the scheme into the existing natural context, while at the same time paying respect to the existing architecture. in the end, the design enables the bar and eating areas to face towards the outdoor areas, guiding the views to the greenery. another feature is the triangular self-supporting rigid roof which allows the possibility of removing the roof system for future expansion.
