today’s highly competitive home property market calls for design that creates a convenient, hospitable living experience in line with the most recent trends. the ‘minton’ housing development in serangoon, singapore, by DP architects is one such design. the development is comprised of ten 15-story and eight 17-story apartment blocks for a total of 1,145 units–including 24 penthouses. despite its size, the high-rises are creatively built on a nature-dense landscape and provision of amenities are spread throughout the campus.

use of open space and landscaping creates distinctively different experiences, facilitated by an interconnected system of bridges and terraces. three sky terraces are present at the site, two of which accommodate spa amenities; the third serves as a landscaped deck that links two levels.

unlike past developments, the design provides a wide range of services, all attractively placed in areas most convenient to inhabitants. the ‘minton’ has rooms dedicated for activities like: yoga, billiards, foosball, karaoke, piano, and ping-pong. commercial establishments are housed in the clubhouse’s–one of the largest in singapore–annex building, and includes childcare and retail. recreational and sports complexes like lap and heated pools, hydro-massage pavilions, ‘onsen’ spas, and an 82-seat library are strategically placed campus-wide. the development is located within walking distance to singapore’s MRT stations and accessible via major expressways.
