mut architecture, a collective working in paris, france has sent us images of their latest project entitled ’12 passive houses’. located in the parisian suburb of pantin, the development consists of twelve, single family homes that lean in alternating poses to catch the light of the sun and capitalize of privacy. each stuck in a static pose, the shingled structures seem to dance with each other, providing the linear composition with a strong sense of movement.

generous windows punctuate the facade in the front and rear of the dwellings, drawing light and natural ventilation deep into the long and narrow interiors. some of these windows wrap the corners of the home and drape the roof lines, interrupting the solid volumes and breaking up the facades.

inside, select interior walls expose wood panels and elements of structural support. factory cut-offs will be used to construct the stairs, doors and furniture, eliminating waste and consumption from the construction of the homes.
