paris-based peripheriques architectes and berranger & vincent architectes have recently completed '72 logements - roller coaster',
an apartment block with 72 total units in nantes, france. a U-shaped building wraps a garden, allowing it to receive southern exposure
as well as the inside of each of the dwellings. an irregularly  ramped roofline runs across the length of the structure, reaching its pinnacle
at the 9th storey at the northern edge and sloping down to the 3rd to minimize to obstruction of daylight to the south and west elevations.

pearly-hued lacquered steel panels surface the facades and roof, shading from vibrant colors to grey shades according to luminosity
and angles of viewing. wood and metal balconies animate the exterior with interaction between inhabitants. residences may overlook
the courtyard or the street, giving options for views with calm or lively activity.
