‘a chapel’ is a conceptual project developed by stockholm-based architect predrag vujanovic that heavily references the art of the american sculptor richard serra. with an immaculate sense of minimalism, serra uses heavy steel sheets and makes them flow seemingly lightly, and fit perfectly as either an indoor or outdoor installation. though it’s called ‘a chapel’, the structure does not center on any specific religion. it serves as a beacon of light, as a gathering point, and as a place for meditation.

the concept strongly defies and interrupts the horizontality of the of the plains found in vojvodina, northern serbia. the structure consists of two entities: one is the ramp made of corten sheets, and the other is the roof made with steel sheets. both pieces are reinforced with a steel substructure.
