karatzas offered the following information in regards to the ‘community rowing boathouse’, which comes directly from the project’s authors: anmahian winton architects. ‘the innovative, sustainable design of the ‘community rowing boathouse’ received the harleston parker medal in its first year of eligibility — which is awarded annually to the single most beautiful structure in the metro boston area built within the past decade. since opening, the ‘CRI’ project has enjoyed an unprecedented level of public interest and acclaim. the design seeks to expand the vocabulary of rowing facilities on the charles river by exploring abstract commonalities between rowing and architecture.’
