OMA new york to build residential high-rise in san francisco

OMA‘s new york office is part of a larger team proposing to design a 550-foot (167 meter) residential tower in block 8 of san francisco’s transbay neighborhood. working alongside developers related california, the plan will contain a mix of condominiums and rental apartments offering affordable family accommodation in addition to luxury housing. OMA partner shohei shigematsu will lead the project, that also includes two podium structures and a row of townhouses filling the remainder of the block.

 

the scheme is developed alongside fougeron architecture, and landscapers CMG. the team has been initially recommended by staff of san francisco’s office of community investment & infrastructure (OCII), and will be considered by the commission board on may 20, 2014.
