developed by belgian CAAN architecten, the collective housing configuration implements an extruded
container placed on the roof, adding to the already existing facade of the building. by incorporating
the cube-like feature to the structure, a vibrant contrasting effect from the red interior color accentuates
the architecture between dwellings.

  • Stop teasing us!

  • This is nice. I really like the purity of the forms both existing and new.
Lovely but there isn’t enough information about the project.
Forgive me but what country is this project in? We’ve not heard of Brioolstraat where I live.
Beautiful initial photograph. I could not stop enjoying the color and composition.

    Ron Smith says:
  • agreed, like what is actually for, or a view of the inside?

    morgan says:
  • The project is situated in Gent – Belgium.
There are more pictures (also interior) on CAAN’s website.
It’s a very nice project, although I think the original design CAAN made for this project was even nicer and more playful.
The design had more interesting confrontations between the old and new windows. But other than that, a very nice project!

    ThomasV says:
  • Very interesting old vs. new
Is that the room of love?
