ATLV is a computational design firm based in los angeles, california. founded by satoru sugihara, the studio pushes the boundaries of practice and research in contemporary architecture and spatial design. through integration of technological innovations, design problems can be approached with many different perspectives. using tailored software tools, ATLV is able to employ algorithms alongside electronic hardware and robotics to seek broader ideas of design, fabrication, and process.

high speed feedback allows for large numbers of design iterations to be investigated, allowing accelerated feedback and flexibility to respond to various design and business situations. in agent-based computational design, techniques, complex parametric modeling automations, and algorithmic and mathematical operations of satoru sugihara are examined. the show presents a range of his designs — including built structures — agent-based architectural studies, and research into cellular growth algorithms. the exhibition is hosted by AA[n+1] and is ongoing until june 30th, 2015 at their paris gallery. a workshop, computing growth, will also be held at the location from june 22nd to the 27th.
