the ‘future wagon’ by australian architect matthew bird of studiobird is an unidentifiable symbol on wheels that envisions the nomadic home of tomorrow. the anachronistic structure is not a high-tech caravan for a family of four, rather the project speculates future roaming street addresses and the value of material decor. the outcome is constructed from do-it-yourself materials and combines references of wandering shelters such as gypsy carriages, buckminster fuller’s dymaxion car and shopping trolleys used by the homeless.
