heatherwick studio has been commissioned to construct a new design studio and exhibition space for chinese fashion brand tangy. the structure sits among a natural landscape of rural flatlands and ponds, the aim of producing a distinctive structure without compromising the harmony of its surroundings. the design strategy exercised by the studio has resulted in a rectangular volume split into two separate units, revealing a garden and a distinctive element of a continuous geometric pattern utilizing terracotta. currently in the progress of construction, it will house private studios, showrooms, a café and a research area.
