hydraulic jacks have been integrated to panels enabling the façade to lift upwards

several elements influenced the design including the poniatowski bridge, re-cycling and fittingly – cars. they combined to give the structure its industrial and contemporary aesthetic. the main element that defines the architectural expression of the pavilion is a new version of its semi-transparent façade’. the light wooden structure is wrapped in metal sheets and installed with hydraulic jacks. this feature allows various panels on the facade to lift – instilling an image of the weightlessness.

inside, skylights on the roof fill the space with light and the wooden material palette is continued with the flooring and exposed internal structure. at the heart of the pavilion is the circular mirrored bar and a car exhibit are based on the south side adjacent to the terraced area.
