YOO, a residential and hotel design company founded by designer philippe starck and john hitchcox proposes their residential tower ‘YOO quito’; poised to be the tallest tower in the ecuadorian capital. the avant-garde project is part of a larger masterplan of transforming the architectural landscape of quito since the construction of a new and improved transportation system. the subway has improved with better connections from the airport into the heart of the city, making it possible for the densification and growth of height in the city, reasons that previously restricted the height of its buildings by the plane passing.

the YOO quito building, whose architecture is the result of the collaboration between the international firm arquitectónica and tommy schwarzkopf. located on a prominent corner in the gonzález suárez area, this inner work raises three fundamental axes; nature, culture and the minimal. the nature palette evokes a sense of purity and simplicity. culture, which recreates historic objects in the decoration decorated with details by YOO inspired by starck team. this will result in interiors that capture a modern minimalist touch incorporating glass, metal, concrete textures and neutral colors.
