san francisco-based artist paul kos presents a playful selection of conceptual artwork in an exhibition entitled 'allegories and metaphors'
at galerie georges-philippe et nathalie vallois. the show features a core selection of his art from 1968 through to 2012,
showcasing both the contextual forces in play and the conflicts on which the work is created. kos flirts with antitheses in hope of finding an equilibrium -
using analogy, language, installation and visual imagery as the outlet for his exploration.
from experimental videos in 1970s to more recent sculptures and interactive installations, his work combines a sense of mischief, a poetic use of materials and a conceptual power.
