for the 2016 edition of art brussels, the organization has asked OTTOMURA to conceive its creative campaign. the belgian photography collective has directed its focus on the fair’s new venue tour & taxis — a turn of the 20th century former customs house.

in the empty spaces of the industrial building, the artists engaged in a series of in-situ experiments with colored smoke, creating an atmospheric, ethereal environment. misty whiffs of pink, yellow and blue haze hang around the vacant corridors and rooms, permeating the site’s large, light-filled chambers. the sequence of curious, colorful clouds add a sense of intrigue and wonderment to the soon-to-be populated space, while simultaneously highlighting the venue’s unique architectural features.
