spanish photographer david blazquez explores the idea of human furniture in his first solo exhibition at
seville’s el fotomata gallery. born in 1980 blazquez studied photography and laboratory techniques.
his background in image manipulation shines through in this series which depict various pieces of
furniture made from human bodies. in each work of  ‘molbiliario humano’, the artist himself appears in
the nude, often in multiples embodying the furniture and props in the photographs. the series explores
the concept of objects, nudity and the self-portrait. the series includes a variety of ‘furniture’ subjects all
shot in black and white including a bathtub, ironing board and floor lamp.
