hungarian graphic designers david remsey + zoltan turney have collaborated to create ‘scenario – baroque space installations’ located at the park of royal palace in godollo, hungary. ten panels measuring 1.2 meters wide and 2.5 meters high are arranged to create a modified baroque theatrical staging on the palace’s grounds. light printed canvases produced with graphic design instruments form the outdoor installation amidst a grove of fir trees. each artist generated five unique panels positioned in two clusters which support a parallel theatrical theme.

zoltan turnys five panel series evokes a mythological compilation of images forming a dream sequence. symbols incorporate baroque patterns and display an allegorical snake forging through the exhibit. birds and zodiac objects float overhead representing a convergence of earth and sky. the adjacent series conceived by david remsey portrays windows into an imaginary world depicted with an engraving style typical of 17th century art. masqueraders with lavish white wigs and nature scenes are graphically composed with stitched fragments of clothing and body parts. a compilation of grotesque and twisted elements form a compelling creation. viewed as a sequence, an abstract story of an introspective journey to a fairyland is revealed.
