dimensionalism at the elms lesters painting rooms in london sees neate continue his research of three-dimensional and stylistic themes. this new collection of works introduces less familiar subjects and marks a return to a darker mood and color palette.

with these pieces space itself has become a medium, the viewer activating their own ‘viewing space’ by moving and changing their vantage point, in order to get the full multi-dimensional effect.

the self-taught neate achieved international recognition for his street art interventions in the late 1990s, when he left thousands of artworks in the streets for anyone to collect.

‘those years were my art school. I learned about color and composition simply though practice. the critics were there every day’ – neate
