for estudio extramuros‘ participation in the ‘100 day project’ — an international call for creatives to engage in a series of work daily, without interruption — the spanish studio has illustrated a different building or architect every day. without limitations on graphic style, type of architecture or final appearance, the team gave the project a challenging twist by restricting their work time to under an hour.

ranging from highly realistic to strikingly abstract, the collection illustrates both small details and architectural plans, as well as entire re-imaginations of the original project. ‘it was not about producing a masterpiece everyday, but to create a body of work little by little,’ describe the team. additionally, the project forced the studio to be creative every day and see each drawing through — even if the result was less than memorable. ‘it made us value the power of steady work and discipline, rather than wait for a sudden spark of creativity. sometimes the illustrations look almost like photographs, and many others are very different from the real building, or don’t look like a building at all, but in every image we tried to tell two stories: the project, and what made that project special for us.’
