florentijn hofman was commissioned by the burgers’ zoo in arnhem, holland to create a site specific work in celebration of its 100th anniversary. as a result, the dutch artist has envisioned ‘feestaardvarken’ (partyaardvark), a 30 meter long concrete aadrvark that can be climbed upon and interacted with. the burrowing animal with signature long ears wears a golden party hat and is positioned splayed out on its back — probably just too tired from all the festivities!
