football and beer: the two have seemingly been married forever. whether at the game or on the couch, millions of sports fans around the goobe quench their thirst with a bottle of their favorite brew.

uruguayan designer pablo cánepa takes the relationship a step further, imagining worldwide teams as their own beer brand. using a typographic treatment that mimics clubs’ logos, colors that correlate to jerseys and gear and an overall aesthetic that fits with the style of the outfit, cánepa creates craft bottles that are completely sourced from classic teams.

examples include: an all-black bottle, with subtle hints of white and yellow, and a curved font spelling out ‘juventus’, which mirrors the italian outfit’s bold visual identity; a blue, yellow and red-striped label reflect the logo of the reigning european champions FC barcelona; while wrapping around another bottle, a red label meets a diamond blue pattern, echoing bayern munich’s classic branding.
