‘guerilla upcycling’ is a project created by local-based studio I have pop, and is an ongoing series of unique pieces of art furniture created from materials found and appropriated from amsterdam, in the netherlands. on the spot where the materials were found these seemingly worthless road signs, fences and planters were improvised, sawn, drilled, cut, screwed and put together as quickly as possible, turning them into design pieces. afterwards, they were left for lucky collectors to find. many of these objects were created in about 30 to 45 minutes in broad daylight with only a handful of tools and screws, often with people observing the process.

‘guerrilla upcycling’ is a project that reflects on the way value is added to modern (especially dutch) design and plays with the idea of improvisation and virtuosity through performance in design.
