‘hills beyond a river’ follows the journey of three animals — a hawk, stag and wolf — as their make their way through a futuristic cityscape. accompanied by a thrumming, electronic underscore created by mickey zhang and WHAI, the video takes us on a trance-like journey through some distant reality, a place where geometric architectures and neon lights are the bedrock of the world around us, and the animal and artificial live in perfect symbiosis.
