berlin-based artist thoka maer has comprised a series of hand-drawn looped gifs that animate life’s simple, everyday trivialities and annoyances. posed as a satirical comment about our daily obstacles, the ‘it’s no biggie’ series illustrates the little inconveniences throughout the day that frustrate and bother; a pesky strand of hair that continually falls onto your face, a picture frame, that never quite sits straight on the wall and the bashful embarrassment of accidentally looking at a map upside down. each tiny dynamic drawing is rendered in a colored pencil style, all described an animated figure outlined in soft hues. in essence, the quirky collection of gifs conveys the triviality in these occurrences and reminds not to sweat the small stuff.
