LED installation at tribeca film festival opening by BW architectsimage © justin weiner

presented during the 2013 tribeca film festival, new york-based BW architects have designed and fabricated a kinetic LED installation. the reusable flowers were made by hand over several days and mounted to painted wood boards, held in place by sandbags. to complement the conception, justin weiner of studio kenji curated a short video of a field of the swaying LED ‘flowers’ mounted to thin metal rods for the opening ceremony. once the lights are activated, the wind provides the movement at different rates due to the varied lengths of steel.
