new york-based artist leo villareal presents his latest large-format digital light sculptures in an exhibition entitled 'context' at the connersmith gallery,
washington DC as part of art miami from the 4th till the 9th of december, 2012. villareal uses the latest LED technology to explore the realms of scale,
pattern, color and light through a reinterpretation of twentieth-century art movements such as conceptual, minimalism and pop.
villareal aims to offer immersive, hypnotic experiences through digital means putting him alongside other pioneers exploring the fields of
minimalist and light-and-space art such as dan flavin and james turrell.
