‘liko’ by zoé ouvrier

‘liko’ is an 8 meter long engraved sculpture composed of intricately hand-carved wood panels that can function as room dividers. created by french artist zoé ouvrier for london’s gallery fumi, the massive artwork depicts tree forms blowing in the wind across the seasons. carved out from plywood, over-layed with oil and acrylic paint, ‘liko’ is a continuation of ouvrier’s continued use of traditional methods used in book and scroll making to engrave natural materials, each of her pieces a result of many hours of intensive engraving.
