the city of paris is renowned around the world for its beauty and history, often marveled at through the lens of travelers and professional photographers alike. videos and images of the iron-latticed eiffel tower and glass-clad louvre have been widely circulated, yet french advertising agency maison carnot has captured the streets and sights a distinct perspective: through the viewfinder of a pentax 67 camera. ‘paris through pentax’ comprises a short film, animating small, everyday scenes of whimsy, laughter and love — a local girl casually eats a croissant at a cafe, a couple kiss under a tree and a group of friends enjoy a beer at a bar. the unique vantage points grants the audience an atypical frame of reference of the famous french metropolis.
