from now until september 21st, 2014 at park dräi eechelen in luxembourg, artist duo martine feipel & jean bechameil situate ‘many dreams’ within the landscape. taking the form of a shell of a 1950s bus — rendered in a synthetic material that resembles stone — the work merges in with the lush park setting as if it has been gradually fossilized over time. the public sculpture invites the audience to experience the feelings of being ‘alone in front of the sea or a vast landscape.’ through the immersive installation, the artists’ communicate their interest in the perception of habitable spaces in both a material and a symbolic sense. in the case of ‘many dreams’, feipel & bechameil beckon the viewer to a contemplative state by providing, as the artists describe, ‘a dreamlike vision of our aspirations mingled with their incompleteness, ultimately referring us back to the vulnerability of all things.’

the major sculpture is presented in luxembourg for the first time after having been shown in belgium for the beaufort04 – triennale of contemporary art by the sea and in france at the pavillon vendôme – centre d’art contemporain in clichy.
