matherly studio is an italian creative practice that aims with its design to give a new perspective to our everyday objects, routines, and lives in general. their work includes art direction, photography, film, set and exhibition design, and it blends functionality with fun, pragmatism and humor. on this occasion they present us ‘together’, a photographic work which expresses their desire to reinterpret and recast the structure of fashion apparel. by applying the concept of ‘union’ on selected objects, they have designed a collection of accessories and garments that embody the antithesis of themselves. the seven loopy designs were then entrusted to a selection of international fashion brands who produced the pieces just like the studio envisioned them.
‘we are delighted in putting on the most stylish non-walking shoes in the world, and shopping with a bag unable to hold anything you throw in it,’ comments mathery studio on the ‘together’ photo series.
