every day for the past eight years, graphic designer mike winkelmann has created a unique digital illustration. using tools like cinema 4D, octane renderer, x-particles, and zbrush, winkelmann has — for the 3027’s consecutive day — drawn environments, figures and science fiction fantasies with an adept hyper-realism with a surreal twist. the plethora of meticulously painted, computerized compositions range from dreamlike landscapes of an imagined future to abstract patterns and motifs, each distinct in their aesthetic and graphic quality. we’ve collected a selection from winkelmann’s vast archive of images that reflect an eerie, mysterious quality of imminent future landscapes.
