within el moscou, a concert hall in the town of torelló near barcelona, illustrator olga capdevila has realized ‘the fluor room’ — an intervention that pays homage to the sarcastic doodles and rude messages drawn in public bathrooms. when managers asked interior designer marta mir to remodel the club, it was clear to her that the space needed a warmer, atmosphere. however, one of the most difficult spaces was the big foyer before the bathroom, a largely useless space so big and cold that guests could only use it as a point of transit.

capdevila filled three walls with more than 300 illustrations to entertain passersby on their way to the toilet. in them, guests can find word games, jokes, anecdotes that actually took place in the club, references to the people and traditions of the town, and some quirky doodles of the bands that have played there. each of the drawings were painted using florescent ink and are illuminated by black light, creating an intoxicating and absorbing effect. the intervention has transformed a blank and boring waiting room into an interesting and engaging area that serves as one of the most symbolic spaces of the club.
