describing himself as ‘an illusionist, conjurer and artist’, salmun sajun specializes in a blend of animation that fuses stop motion and live action. ‘the process’ is a charming cardboard film about the different stages involved in the creative steps of these motion graphics, from the initial spark of inspiration, to the final iteration of the finished product.

‘I wanted to show all the different steps involved in the creation process while adding an explosion of colour and wackiness to it all!’ explains salmun sajun of the motivation behind the project. ‘of course everything is shot in camera frame by frame with the magic of stop-motion.’ each step of the creative process is beautifully interpreted in a variety of colorful and abstract arrangements, and articulated in gorgeous cut-out stop motion movements. the result is a visually arresting, tongue-in-cheek demonstration of a how an idea journeys from brain to screen and back again.
