this massive mosquito artwork by valery chaliy has been built in noyabrsk, russia entirely from scrap metal and vehicle parts. the piece is a decorative structure situated in the garden in front of the russian oil company, gazprom. chaliy formed the work based on the great population of mosquitos and largo oil and gas production which are found in this western siberian region. the seven foot tall structure recently resurfaced by a group of biologists traveling through noyabrsk to develop an eco-tourism route for the area.
