commissioned by the office group to add personality to the stratford place office design, the installation by acrylicize pays respect to martin van buren – originator of the term ‘OK’ (old kinderhook was van buren’s birthplace). in the main meeting room, the eighth president of the USA is pictured sitting for his portrait posing with the well-known hand gesture. overall, the implemented artwork throughout the building contrasts two very different periods of time, joined together into one desirable office space. collaborating with graphic designer alex fowkes – renowned for his recent sony music timeline installation – an overlayed mirror with a bespoke screen print at the main entrance references disney’s most cherished workers: the seven dwarves. additionally, a tongue-incheek ‘work hard’ neon piece is integrated for a nearby breakout space, complimenting the surrounding art throughout the office group’s laidback workspace.
