travis durden sees the demise of six infamous villains as lifeless skulls

the villains that haunt us on television or in film might be frightening enough — but french artist travis durden imagines an even more chilling iteration of their original appearance. the creative’s latest project depicts the ways in which the natural life cycles of myths and idols involves their eventual demise, seeing six figures reduced to mere skeletal forms.

durden has recreated his favorite villains as sunken, 3-dimensional skulls: alien, ghost face, maleficent, predator, terminator and dracula. the artist has sourced the original characters in their making, imagining how the villians’ skulls might look beneath the skin. brittle bones and hollow anatomies have been humorously dressed in ornate period costumes, ‘so you’ll see the terminator in a ‘game of thrones’ suit, and the predator dressed up as a flemish doctor,’ durden says.
