 BECK' S PRIZE design a key and what it opens --- title: the reflexology chamber # : 1389 marc drewes and felix volland from germany   designer's own words: The Reflexology Chamber The reflexology chamber is an installation designed to open up the body and mind of the user by means of foot reflexology. According to foot reflexology, the foot is the key, or better, 'doorway' to the whole body and its organs. The application of pressure to certain reflex points in the foot maximizes circulation and energy flow by opening up blockations in the body. In the reflexology chamber, these pressures are produced by walking barefooted over a landscape of stimulating nodules. The effect is enhanced as one is separated from the surrounding environment by an auditory and tactile surface. The key building material of the installation is the key - thousands of keys.
