---
title: fingerkey
# : 703
cristobal karich from chile

designer's own words:
The project consists in combining technology and common everyday activities,
trying to make them simpler and more fluid.

The selected activity is related to the theme of the competition because it works as a door key.
Combining technology resources like a finger print scanner and a designed door handle
that permits that the thumb becomes the key.

The project is there for called FINGER KEY, the door handle contains a finger print scanner
within its cylinder, which easily is recognized by the user and doesn’t change the way most door handles work.

The red light makes the handle easy to identify in the dark.

This concept could be also applied to various number of different applications,
like cars, locks and everyday activities that usually work with standard keys.

The focus is not pointed to the mechanism or technology that could make this idea feasible,
but just in the concept that things like opening the door everyday are.
