what is it?
pavilion is a biannual publication that focuses on art
and culture the title alludes to the relative, temporary
structure of contemporary art. it is produced by the
organizers of the bucharest art biennale. the publication
is now in its 8th edition with the 2nd bucharest biennale
in june 2006. the magazine replaces the publication
‘art -photo’.

content:
each issue features interviews, essays, and art pieces
from key contemporaries. issue eight showcases the
work of subodh gupta, aaron young, common culture,
dan perjovschi, doug aitken, maurizio cattelan, tracey emin ,
jeff koons and others. there are essays by editor razvan ion and jean baudrillard. each artist talks about their work and
what itrepresents.

goods and people, move in all sorts of ways in todays world.
in cartons and in container ships, strapped into bucket seats
secure in the cargo hold, stockpiled in the carriage of a goods
train, straddling motor scooters, tied up in bundles arrayed in
rows, ensconed in the bacl seats of rotuned automobiles,
tagged by invoices, insurance cover notes, way bills and
instructions for packing, unpacking ladling, cartage and
storage...’
