name : CIARAN ADAMSON

age : 32
city : dublin
state : ireland

designer's comment :
the form of this folding chair is simple and functional.
made from Dibond, it can be adapted graphically to every conceivable style depending on its function and requirement.
this chair is ideal for the exhibition industry or anywhere where large quantities of people are required to be seated,
be they conference executives, children at a show or guests at a wedding.
the event industry demands inexpensive and sturdy furniture that can withstand the rough treatment they receive.
these lazer cut chairs are idealy suited for this environment, can arrive flat-packed, are lightweight and are easily transported.
by simply screenprinting the chairs, they can be customized and branded for any occasion, adding a splash of colour,
theme or reinforcing brand integrity.

designer's comment :
a folding-chair with jointed parts and no connecting
parts. the back-wall, supporting the back, acts as
the breech-block at the same time. this is provided
with 2 savings in which the 2 side-walls (each with 1
saving) can be placed. these sidewalls also support the seat

designer's comment :
carefully designed for the south american furniture market, 'plano' seeks to
rovide a low cost folding chair which can compete in price with the
aluminium and plastic products that arrive from Asia.
made out of a very thin resistant plywood, its hinges are formed by a strong
flexible material which is hidden in between the layers of wood.

designer's comment :
as we had to make a chair I decided to target the age group from 2 - 5 years of age.
I wanted to make a foldable chair that the parents could take with them when going over to a friend's house.
In my research I covered a wide range of chairs and I found that the stools were about the right size.
for my design I had to come up with something quick and easy that the parents could put together.
I also wanted to make it out of one or two pieces of cardboard making it easy to put together.
with the leg angled in, this gives it more strength when sat on.
the back rest slots into the legs holding them in place, strengthening it.

gender : male
age : -
city : dunedin
state : new zealand

designer's comment :
this stool is intended for outdoor activities, such as a sporting event, a day on the beach, or even just the simple family picnic.
It is made from coreflute: an inexpensive, lightweight, waterproof plastic material. It can be folded up to be transported easily
and then used again, or it may be recycled if it has no further use.
