on the occasion of the salone satellite in milan there was for the second time the award ceremony for the "design talent of the year" of the german design magazine 'design report'. http://www.design-report.de the design talent of the year is ...: excitement was in the air among the 400 young participants of the salone satellite on april 5 as the members of the contest jury took the stage in hall 9 of the trade fair grounds and announced, 'the winner is... studio mat' . for the four up-and-coming designers marco bellomo, antonio brizzi, carla m. crosina and babette riefenstahl, this was a cause for celebration: the renowned prize, promises extensive media coverage and support in addition to the 6000 thousand euros in prize money. a clever product and a sound exhibit: the jury, consisting of designers tom dixon (great britain), ferrucio laviani (italy), anette ponholzer (germany) and christophe marchand (switzerland) and the new editor in chief of design report w.o. geberzahn (germany), honoured the winners both for their cleverly designed product, a shelving system and for their concentrated and effective exhibition space. the shelving system consists of aluminium modules in various sizes that can be mounted on a structure system at the desired height and width using a clever girder connecting mechanism. thanks to its efficient use of materials, the shelving system is both stable and lightweight - and just as flexible as it is colourful. the decision of the jury was unanimous. |
